Cookie Cutter "Diet" Plans

“I found this diet plan online and I hear really good things about it”, says the friend who is determined to lose weight. We have all heard this at least once from our peers who are seeking weight loss, right?

Following a cookie cutter or one-size fits all plan will do nothing for your individual needs. Do you go around wearing on anybody’s shoes just because they look like they will fit? No. Their shoe may not fit you, and two its just nasty. Now think about this in terms of a meal plan. Everyone has different needs, ailments, lifestyles, allergies, body types, and we all respond to things differently. The plan you follow should be comparable to a custom pair of shoes; made just for you. The next time someone points to a “diet” online, and pushes you to try it, I want you to compare the potential consequences to that of wearing a stranger’s shoes.

Success comes from knowledge, and knowing is half the battle. Extreme caloric deficits, a universal caloric goal, and cookie cutter plans will do more harm than good in most cases. If your current situation is mentioned above, I want you to stop, reset, focus and continue pushing forward the right way. Eat to compliment YOUR lifestyle, YOUR training, YOUR individual needs and YOUR goals. It will be so much easier to maintain and progress long after you've met your goal. Feel free to share with your friends.
